Well today was supposed to be sunny and beautiful with a high of 25 degrees. Instead it was overcast, cold and a high of 14. I am sorry to all the moms out there from the Lower Mainland, but all I can say is thank you God!
I was supposed to work today, but woke up completely exhausted and with a sore throat. Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year at our restaurant and I never call in sick. Okay well maybe not never but I can count the number of times I have missed a shift over the past 2 years on one hand.
So because the weather was so horrible and I was feeling so blah, I was able to have the night off and enjoy the day with my mom and dad.
I find that the more I realize that I am going away in September, the more I appreciate time with my parents. I don't know about you, but I have wicked parents. After I slept for most of the afternoon after church, the three of us we went out for a dinner at this super casual restaurant and then rented
Night at the Museum. The whole day was awesome. I was just so thankful that God gave me a break. I am a little stressed at work right now and just feeling really burnt out. I have tomorrow off so I am looking forward to sleeping in and getting a few little errands done.
Anyways, I just wanted to post this up because I think all too often we forget about lazy days like today where we just really appreciate spending time with those we love and who love us. We take them for granted all too often. So thank you God for an amazing day!
And of course
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!
YOU'RE THE BEST AND I LOVE YOU LOTS!
